Soul, Jazz & Jingle Bells

In May 2019, Acoustic Lounge entered the studio, where they decorated for Christmas, ate traditional Danish “klejner” pastries, and drank mulled wine (“glögg”) — all to create the perfect holiday atmosphere for recording their Christmas EP This Christmas.
The EP was released the same year and features three carefully selected Christmas classics. Each song is interpreted with equal parts respect for the originals, creative reimagining, and Acoustic Lounge’s laid-back, warm sound.
This marked the beginning of their annual Christmas concerts across Denmark.

At a Christmas concert with Acoustic Lounge, the audience is invited into an intimate and cozy experience. You’ll hear a range of well-known international and Danish holiday classics such as Winter Wonderland, Når Du Ser Et Stjerneskud (“When You See a Shooting Star”), and Dejlig Er Jorden (“Fair Is Creation”).
Among the more modern selections are the Danish Hvad Er Det Der Gør Jul Til Noget Særligt (“What Is It That Makes Christmas So Special”) and The Love, written by Acoustic Lounge’s pianist and vocalist Søren Baun, known for his soulful musicality and heartfelt vocals.

In Acoustic Lounge, the drummer has been replaced by two percussionists who, throughout the concert, create a vibrant winter soundscape using percussion instruments from around the world.
The close-knit percussion duo, Mikkel Schnettler and Michael Hartvig, have played together for over 20 years.
The band also includes renowned Danish bassist Jesper Bodilsen and the virtuosic Hungarian saxophonist Gabor Bolla.

Acoustic Lounge has released two albums. Their latest release, Alone Together, has been well-received on various streaming platforms, and their track Black and Gold has had over 250 plays on P8 Jazz.
